5 Tips for Getting Out of Your Feelings and Back In Your Focus

Y'all! I'm back up on my bullshit. Time to cue Meg's Savage! Quarantine is producing a newer version of me. Business is good. Skin is glowing and the way I'm snatching up my waist-girl!  I'm making decisions I never imagined I would. Being the Pretti Beast that you are, I'm sure you that you are having your own personal victories. It's like we're adulting on an entirely different level. Still, change no matter how necessary comes with feelings (yuck!) and those can be hard to deal with when you're supposed to be cut off from everything and everyone.

I can't stress how much we don't have time for you to be a victim of your feelings. I'm not saying that it's easy cause the way I cried trying to type this piece out, but nothing worth having is going to be easy. The world is in need of a few hundred brazen Black business women, if we're ever going to return to normal (or create a bomb ass new normal). So, I'm sliding through to say it's time sis. Burry those feelings and get back into your focus.

Up Your Hustle

As long as you're good to it- MONEY WILL NEVER BETRAY YOU. So, up your hustle. Create the sales funnel, revamp your website, get creative with your marketing- do something that will take your business to the next level. And don't it's easier said than done me- I'm up writing to y'all when all I want to do is curl up in a ball and cry because like I said change can do that. When you're working towards something bigger than you, you learn to pause your feelings to get through the tasks.

Take A Free Course

I will forever be an advocate for professional development. An entrepreneur without knowledge of their industry is a fan! Sis, sign up for a master class or go through a company like Edx. My industry (right along with event other industry) is changing and I for one don't want to be left behind. You're home, you have the time, so add some knowledge to your arsenal. The average course is about six weeks, so be sure you can commit to the workload.

Make Self Care Your Lifestyle

Now is the time to create a self care routine. I have several, but in this season I've been called to take that to another level. Meditation is mandatory and I am committed to my skin care routines. But don't stop there- clean out that closet, make time for journaling, go for a walk, work out at home. F' it, break out that vibrator in the back of your closet and get yourself right. There's no right way to do it, but pouring into your own cup for a bit will definitely take your mind off of feeling isolated.

Find a Creative Outlet

Depending on how long we'll be at this social distancing thing don't be surprised if you see me out here sculpting with somebody's son, like Demi Moore and Patrick Swazey in Ghost. Everyone needs an outlet. Everyone has a passion they've been too busy for. Learn to make that dish. Write that poem. Finish that music. Go all DIY and redecorate your home. Feeding your creative soul balances your sacral chakra and takes your mind off the negative thoughts and feelings you may be facing.

Stay in Touch

Call your friends and family. You are not alone in this world and you are definitely not alone in your feelings. Pick up the phone and schedule video calls. I know it's not the same but connecting with your tribe will help you outta your feelings and back to your focus.
