Tips for Prettier PR Writing

This is the time of year where a lot of brands will take their media efforts into their own hands. Can I be candid with y'all for a second? Messaging matters!! Every word you write from your social media content to your product descriptions speak volumes about your brand and how well you understand your target customers. And a lot of you are really bad at it.

Follow chains and lackluster efforts to connect with your audience will only take you so far. PR is about increasing visibility in order to establish credibility.

So, no, it is not enough to drive traffic to your site, if people aren't going to buy. It's also not enough to say you are an expert if you aren't a part of the larger conversation.  That's why it's important to have a PR plan in place.

Although social media has changed a lot about the way the PR game is played- two things remain the same: your message needs to be clear, and media outreach is most efficient way to broadcast  that message.

It's always the writing for me. A well-written story pitch and a hearty press release matter as much as quality images. So if writing isn't your strong suit, this list is for you. By applying these tips to your press releases and media pitches you increase your probability of making a pretti first impression on the press.
