Motherhood & Selfcare With Modern Day Make Up Mommy

I'm not sure about you but I'm ready for summer brunches, mimosas, and time with my mom friends! When they talk about being a stay-at-home mom being hard work, honey, they did not lie. What they did leave off is how intentional you have to be about maintaining a balance between being a mom and being a woman.
At about the same time my ex and I decided to split up, my cousin Treanna Neufville started opening up to her blog audience about her hysterectomy and the ways that challenged her as a woman. She was open about some of the ways it impacted her marriage as well as how it forced her to re-examine how she was treating herself.

Let's just say the feelings and message of staying connected to self made sense. And her bravery struck a nerve. In her darkest time, she was showing up for her husband, sons, and stayed true to the Modern Day Makeup Mommy,  mission to help working mothers redefine what motherhood looks like.

So when I heard that on June 24th, 2023, Treanna will be hosting her Makeup, Mommys, and Mimosas workshop and brunch in Brooklyn, NY I had to tell y'all about it. One because Treanna is my cousin and I want everything my family touches to be successful BUT even more importantly, this is one of those opportunities for working moms and entrepreneur moms to connect offline with an outlet looking to serve them.

There are three other  reasons that this event excites me:

Moms need community. Raising babies is hard enough. Thanks to the pandemic a lot of us got used to it just being us and our babies. And if you need fortunate enough to work from home, it’s likely work and home bleed into each other often (I'm typing this out while my four year old manga his feet on the floor next to me).Whether you’re married like Treanna or re-entering the world of dating like I am, you need other people you can connect with. And I can't think of a better way to break the ice than in a makeup workshop.

Sundresses strappy sandals and shades. MDMM is all about empowering the mom in the mirror. And nothing makes me feel more empowered than a pretti sundress, strappy sandals, and the perfect pair of shades. So when I hear brunch that is the first thing that comes to mind- after the menu.

Food is one hell of a bonding tool. Speaking of menu, I don't care if you're an entrepreneur or just looking to expand your friend circle, a good meal builds tighter bonds. I encourage my clients to find time to feed journalists and influencers often. It makes us feel good, allows us to drop our guard, and makes the experience far for memorable.

Tickets for Mommy’s Makeup and Mimosas can be purchased here. I look forward to seeing you all in person.
