Business Ideas We Love: Keeping It In The Family And Empowering Women of Color With BrownStyle Magazine

In an era where the digital landscape continues to evolve and the voices of Black and Brown creators are being left out of the narrative, a new star is about to grace the firmament of online publications. BrownStyle Magazine, a dynamic and inclusive lifestyle and luxury magazine, entered the picture on September 19, 2023. With a mission to celebrate the multifaceted lives of modern women of color (WOC), it promises to be a beacon of inspiration, knowledge, and community.

The brainchild of acclaimed journalists Tweety Elitou and  Emerald Elitou, BrownStyle Magazine aims to carve a niche in the digital sphere by providing a platform where women of color can shine brightly. Which isn't too far off base from the stories I know them to have covered throughout their journalistic careers.

At its core, BrownStyle Magazine is all about authenticity, inclusivity, elevation, and empowerment. This publication recognizes the need for a space that caters to the interests, aspirations, and challenges of today's women of color. The magazine boasts a talented team of writers, editors, and contributors who are poised to deliver engaging and informative content across a broad spectrum of categories, including fashion, beauty, wellness, travel, and relationships.

However, BrownStyle Magazine promises to be more than just a collection of articles. It's a community, a sisterhood where women can connect, share their stories, and engage in thought-provoking discussions. In the words of Tweety Elitou, "In a society that can be cold, we all crave a warm embrace from a community that celebrates our talents and latest accomplishments. At BrownStyle Magazine, it's good vibes only as we shine a light on inspirational people and help our sisters manifest a life filled with peace and happiness.

While the magazine aims to inspire and empower, it also recognizes the importance of self-care. Emerald Elitou emphasizes, "We encourage women not to neglect themselves while being 'superwomen' for their loved ones. We are advocates for women to carve out time for their well-being.".

The story behind the founders adds depth to BrownStyle Magazine's mission. Tweety Elitou, hailing from Philadelphia, was nurtured in a family of authors and publishers. She started her career as a fashion writer at the age of 13 and went on to become the former Sr. Lifestyle Editor of BET, where she played a pivotal role in expanding the audience and reshaping the Lifestyle vertical on the brand's website. It was during a period of self-care and soft living that the idea for BrownStyle Magazine was born.

Emerald Elitou, following in the footsteps of her family, became a highly sought-after journalist, contributing to well-known publications such as Byrdie, Essence, and Allure. Known as the "Launch List Lady," Emerald is an advocate for diversity and is committed to supporting Black and Latino-owned businesses, the LGBTQIA+ community, and women-owned brands. Her vision for BrownStyle Magazine is to inspire women of color to live life to its fullest potential.

BrownStyle Magazine is not just another publication; it's a movement, a celebration of the vibrant and diverse lives of women of color. It's a space where empowerment, inspiration, and community come together to light the path for modern WOC.
