The Haus That Healing Built
Detroit’s own Haus of Melanin is changing what luxury looks and feels like—for us, by us.
That’s where Haus of Melanin comes in.
Founded in 2019 and proudly based in Detroit, Michigan, this luxury skincare brand was born out of both necessity and vision. “With me having lupus and just being a Black woman, I realized how little existed for our skin,” says founder Bryana Sade. “The products on shelves weren’t helping—and they definitely weren’t made with us in mind.”
What started as a personal search for healing quickly transformed into a mission to redefine beauty, care, and luxury for Black women everywhere. “We deserve more than the cheaper option. We deserve to feel promoted, pampered, and prioritized. That’s what I wanted to build.”
And so she did.
Drawing inspiration from high fashion and wellness culture, Haus of Melanin brings the spa home without compromising quality. Every product is made with all-natural or 100% organic ingredients, designed specifically for melanin-rich skin and rooted in intention.
The brand rose in popularity, during the height of the pandemic by offering what the world was suddenly lacking: comfort, calm, and a way to feel beautiful while stuck at home. “We decided to bring the spa to you,” Bryana explains. “Even when the world shut down, you could still feel luxurious. You could still care for yourself.”
But the Haus of Melanin is bigger than body butter and bath soaks to Bryana. It’s become a quiet revolution against the idea that Black women must always be strong, never soft. “I wanted to create something that felt high-end but felt like us too. Comfortable, curated, luxurious, but still Black.”
From Detroit to the shelves of intentional beauty lovers nationwide, Haus of Melanin is built on care, community, and couture. It’s the kind of brand that doesn’t just sell products—it tells us who we are and what we deserve.
And the answer? Everything. Especially luxury.
